OpenToonz - 2D Animation

A fantastic programme for producing 2D frame-by-frame animation, released into the Public Domain and based on the software "Toonz", which was developed by Digital Video S.p.A. in Italy, customized by Studio Ghibli, and has been used for creating its works for many years. A little difficult to get into, in my opinion, but some fantastic "how to" videos on YouTube. I've found many to be really useful.

Blender 3D

Blender is the free and open source 3D creation suite. It supports the entirety of the 3D pipeline—modeling, rigging, animation, simulation, rendering, compositing and motion tracking, even video editing and game creation. An absolutely fantastic programme for the price of ZERO. There are many tutorials on the Official Blender site, and many, many Yout=Tubers out there wishing to teach you how to use the software. Personally, I have found it better to spend a little to learn a lot through courses available from Udemy.com. Blender can also be used for creating 2d animations with its Grease Pencil.
